GSS

GSS = Great Singapore Sales

1) This is a creative idea came from the merchants to increase their sales volume during the period of poor sales season between June to July. You see there's no public holidays during this two month, so singapore tourism board come out with GSS to rescue them.

2) Most shops will label themselves as "sales". If this propaganda works, at least you will enter the shop which you have no plan to step in. After you step in, the chances of you buying increase even though only 1% of their goods are on sales. This i called "act seh sales".

3) Some shops using this time to clear their stocks, those out of time items which are going to rot in the storeroom or those that are selling at a unreasonable price. This is where the real bargain and fun lies. Clothing usually goes up to 50% off, you have to be sharp and quick enough to grab them, the best is to shop before the weekends, whereas you would probably find only the XXXXL or XXXXS size. i recommend those of the extreme size to chiong for GSS. i should call this "lelong sales".

4) Lastly, this is the best type of sales. Shops that are smart would not price their items at the lowest price. Usually the first wave of sales, the items usually selling at 30% off to get off their stocks as many as possible. After that, the same items can be selling at a unbelievable price. This i called "the third price tag sales".

hehe.. that's a steal. i really want to buy the stuff that i like not of sale item but as a poor student, thing would have to compensate la.
